Phosphate Rock Hydrofluorosilicic Acid (HFS) Sulfuric Acid 93% Sulfuric Acid 98% Uranium Oxide
Phosphate HFS/Sulfuric Acid Uranium
Phosphate Rock Phosphate rock is one of the most variable of the raw materials used by the fertilizer industry. It is actually composed of several different apatite minerals including fluoroapatite, chloroapatite, and hydroxyapatite. The deposits from which it is obtained vary widely in their concentration of phosphate and in the types and quantities of other associated materials. The quality of phosphate rock is usually defined in terms of its P2O5 content, the concentration normally occurring in the range of 28 - 38% P2O5.
Today, one of the largest areas of phosphate rock production in the United States comes from secondary deposits of marine phosphorite, such as those found in the Bone Valley Formation in central Florida. The Bone Valley Formation, where these very large deposits of the phosphate rock occur, was formed 10 to 15 million years ago during the late Miocene or Pliocene Age.
Phosphate rock is a starting material in the manufacture of phosphoric acid by acidulation with sulfuric acid in the wet process method and elemental phosphorus by the furnace method. In turn, phosphoric acid is the building block for many other phosphate fertilizers.
Hydrofluorosilicic Acid (HFS) Hydrofluorosilicic acid (H2SiF google seo software 6) is produced during the concentration of phosphoric acid in the evaporator process.
Hydrofluorosilicic acid is used in many ways, including the fluoridation of public water supplies; the manufacture of fluoride and fluorosilicate salts, catalysts, ore processing; the production of technical paints, wood preservatives and laundry sours; and surface cleaning of aluminum, lead electrowinning and refining.
93% Sulfuric Acid
98% Sulfuric AcidSulfuric acid is used for many different industrial/chemical processes. These include the manufacture of rayon, coke, pulp and paper, paints, soaps, phosphoric acid and detergent. It is used in the chemical processing of explosives and batteries (lead-acid type), metal descaling and metal processing and refining. Sulfuric acid also is used in water treatment to adjust pH, and to control corrosion and scaling.
Uranium Oxide Uranium is a naturally occurring element found in minute quantities in phosphate rock as U3O8. The uranium is extracted during the phosphoric acid process and refined into an uranium oxide concentrate. The concentrate is used in the nuclear fuel industry.
